The Ever-Shifting Lexicon - conversations with multilingual writers

ESL writers, writers who moved to another country or were raised multilingual, translators-and-writers, and many others who make use of more than one language – we are sponges for words and expressions from different backgrounds. We navigate our way between languages, audiences, and sometimes vastly different publishing industries. We are often betwixt and between, sticking out and invisible at the same time.

To explore this range of experiences I talk to writers with multilingual backgrounds about their ways of juggling words and worlds.

Entry #1: The Musicality of Language with Eugenia Triantafyllou
Entry #2: The Building Materials of Stories with Renan Bernardo
Entry #3: Stories That Feel Like Home with Fatima Taqvi
Entry #4: Speaking the Truth with Oghenechovwe Ekpeki
many more forthcoming every second Tuesday! If you don’t want to miss the next entry, you can also subscribe to The Ever-Shifting Lexicon newsletter, and the next interview will be delivered to your inbox.

If you are a multilingual writer (or dream of becoming one!), I’d love to hear from you! Find me at and let’s talk about the quest for words, circumnavigating obstacles, and maybe connecting and sharing resources.
